WRHS HOMECOMING PARADE 2011
FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 30, 2011
PARADE RULES
1. The Window Rock High School nor the Window Rock-Fort Defiance Lions Club are
not responsible for any injuries, damages, theft or loss of any properties of
any person before, during and after the parade.
2. No Refunds of any parade entry fees—No Exceptions!
3. Place your entry number on the right side of your entry. Your parade entry
number qualifies your entry for judging. All entries are required to complete
registration and pay the appropriate fees. No unregistered entries will be
allowed.
4. Line-up as early as 2:00 p.m. on Bonita Drive, in front of the old PHS
Hospital.
5. Parade will begin promptly at 4:00 p.m. onto Route 110 - Kit Carson and head
southeast to the parking lot across and east of the Veterans Memorial Field
house. Your entry may be dismantled here or immediately removed.
6. Please maintain a consistent pace: Do not allow major gaps in front of your
entry. Dance groups must keep up.
7. Please do not throw items at the audience from a moving entry. Persons
walking alongside your entry may hand them out. Reasons are twofold—for the
environment and safety. Entries not in compliance with this will be disqualified
from judging.
8. For equestrian entries, please provide your own scoopers.
9. All motorized vehicles, including ATV’s must have a licensed driver. No
double riders and no inexperienced riders on horseback or on motorcycles.
10. Unwrapped candies are not allowed.
11. Safety chains are required on trailer hitches. Inspections by parade
committee members will be conducted.
12. Fire extinguishers must be visible and easily accessible on your float.
13. Your adherence and acknowledgement to these rules are your responsibility.
14. WRHS Class Entries and Alumni will be judged on Class Spirit, Theme,
Presentation, Originality and Creativity. The Winners of the Class Competition
will be announced during Halftime of the Homecoming Football game later that
evening. Alumni winners will receive a certificate.
15. General or all other entries will be judged in three (3) categories for Best
Commercial, Most Original and Judges Favorite. Winners will receive a
certificate.
16. Deadline to receive completed parade applications and entry fees is
Thursday, September 29, 2011 @ 5:00 p.m. Thereafter, any late entries will be
required to pay a late fee of $10.00 in addition to applicable entry fees. No
Exceptions!!
